Please join us for a memorable Diwali celebration filled with cultural richness, vibrant traditions, delicious food, and the joy of being part of a close-knit community. The details of the Diwali 2024 program are as follows:

Date: Saturday, November 9th, 2024
Time: 4.00 pm to 8.30 pm
Venue: Lemoyne Community Room
Address: 510 Herman Ave, Lemoyne, PA 17043

Agenda:

1. Meet and Greet: [4.00 pm to 5.30 pm]
2. Cultural Program: [5.30 pm to 7.30 pm]
3. Dinner: [7.30 pm to 8.30 pm]

We request your participation in the following ways:

1. Cultural Program: The cultural program entries suitable for the festival should be sent to Mrs. Ravisha Phadnis(ravisha25@gmail.com).

The theme of the program is “Indian Festivals”.

Please inform the details of your participation including type and the minutes of performance, final mp3 submission by October 15, 2024 @ 9.00 PM.

2. Competition ( Diya Decoration & Drawing ) :

If your kids intend to participate in either of the above mentioned competitions or in both, please register with Mrs. Prajakta Gune (prajakta.gune@gmail.com) by October 15, 2024.

Diya Decoration Competition: You can collect a panati/diya from any one of the committee members. You have to decorate panati at home and take a picture of decorated panati and send it to Mrs. Prajakta Gune by October 27, 2024.

Drawing Competition: The topic for Drawing Competition is “ Killa/ Fort”. You have to draw and paint at home and take a picture and send it to Mrs.Prajakta Gune by October 27, 2024.

NOTE: Please bring decorated panati/diya and drawings at the time of event. We would like to display your creativity.

3. Volunteers: We are looking for volunteer(s) to help with multiple aspects of the event – including food planning/serving, music system handling etc. If you want to help, please reach out to Mrs. Sayali Sawant (sawant.sayali1990@gmail.com).

Members: $20/person aged 12 years and above.
Non-Members: $28/person aged 12 years and above.

We request your participation in the following ways: 

1. Cultural Program: The cultural program entries suitable for the festival should be sent to Mrs. Sayali Sawant(sawant.sayali1990@gmail.com).

Please inform the details of your participation including type and the minutes of performance, final mp3 submission by September 22, 2024 @ 9.00 PM. 

Many freebies and gifts are planned during the fun activities segment of the program. 

2. Cooking Competition: If you intend to participate in a cooking competition, please register with Mrs. Dipti Savaji (dipti.savaji@gmail.com) by September 15, 2024.The topic/ingredient will be common to all participants.

Topic: Our Bappa’s Favorite MODAK.

You have to prepare 4 modaks of your choice at home and present your dish in front of judges at the time of the event. You will be judged based on how do you describe your dish to judge, presentation of your dish, taste of the modak. 

3. Volunteers: We are looking for volunteer(s) to help with multiple aspects of the event – including food planning/serving, music system handling etc. If you want to help, please reach out to Mrs. Prajakta Gune(prajakta.gune@gmail.com).

As per the tradition, we will celebrate the Gudi Padwa function at the HARI Temple on Saturday, April 13th, 2024.

Marathi families have been sponsoring this meal for past several years. I am very proud to note that over the past several years, we have enjoyed a BIG attendance for this dinner, almost close to 500+ people!

This has been possible only due to generous support from all of you. I am hoping to have the same support this year as well.

This year, we are planning the menu as follows:

1. Polya
2. Papad
3. Saadhaa Bhaat
4. Gravy Bhajee (Flower–Matar–Potato mixed)
5. Usal — Desi Chana (Red Chana)
6. Koshimbeer (Yogurt-based, Kakadee–Gajar–Tomato mixed)
7. Jilebee

All the food items needs to be prepared as No Onion and No Garlic.

If you would like to contribute from the above menu please do so by April 9th, it would help greatly to plan the meal. You can sign-up here and pick the item you wish to contribute. You can contribute to multiple items per your wish.

If you wish, you can support to sponsor buy-out items like Polya, Jilebee etc. please sign-up using the above link and you can bring the items to the temple.
