Around the year 2000, few enthusiastic Marathi families used to gather and started celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi (Ganeshotsav) together. Later, they regularly started celebrating other traditional and cultural Maharashtrian Festivals. As years passed, more and more families started joining the core group and thereafter, the group transitioned into an organization named MMCPA. Today, there are more of 100 families are residing in and around Harrisburg, PA.
In 2018, MMCPA was turned into 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit organization serving the needs of Marathi community in Central Pennsylvania. We are proud to inherit and preserve our Marathi culture thorough various cultural activities around the year and also to propagate teachings and ideas of Hinduism.
